The Reelport Claude extension lets Claude edit talking-head videos inside DaVinci Resolve Studio and then publish them through reelport.io. Install it from the panel with Add Reelport to Claude.
Start an edit
In Claude Desktop, type /reelport or "edit my video". Claude will:
- Check the setup. Resolve Studio must be running with external scripting set to Local (Resolve › Preferences › System › General).
- Find the clip. It uses the selected clip or timeline, or finds footage on a card or drive ("C9348 on my Sony card").
- Ask your choices, pre-filled with last time's answers: style, colour, format (9:16, 16:9, 4:3), fonts, B-roll and hook.
- Build the edit in Resolve: cuts, captions, hooks, punch-ins, colour and audio levels.
What it can do
- Styles: five editing styles plus your own, learned from an example edit.
- Captions: auto-subtitles, animated captions in many looks, SRT export and translation, spell-checks of on-screen text.
- Cutting: silence removal, shorts and montages from a long video, podcast multicam by who's talking, B-roll from your bank.
- Finishing: colour looks, punch-in zooms, motion titles and lower thirds, brand watermark (from your team's brand kit, synced with reelport.io), loudness for the platforms, sound effects, safe-zone guides.
- Variations: several reels from the same footage in one go.
Which features and presets you get depends on your plan (see Plans and limits).
Publish and schedule
When the edit is done, ask Claude to post it: "schedule this for tomorrow at 9 on Instagram and TikTok". Claude renders the timeline, uploads it to reelport.io and schedules it. It can also suggest free slots and check a post's status. Claude signs in to reelport.io the same way the panel does: a code you confirm at reelport.io/device.
Autopilot
Let Claude run the whole pipeline: understand the footage and music, plan the reel, assemble it, render, and queue it in your next free slots. Each step is the same tool you can run by hand, so you can stop it and adjust anywhere.
